Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 16, 2026

Pragmatic Fox makes BinCraft, Elemental Bender, AE Bridge, and Difference Engine. This policy explains how those tools and the Pragmatic Fox website handle information. The tools do not all use the same services, so the product-specific differences are described below.

Your media and project data

Our tools are designed to process editorial work on your Mac. We do not receive your footage, Avid bins, After Effects projects, markers, sequence names, timecode, frame grabs, reports, or other editorial content as part of normal use. Files you choose to create or export remain in the locations you select or in the tool’s local working folders.

If you choose to send us files or screenshots for support, we receive what you send and use it to address your request. Please do not send confidential project material unless you are authorized to share it.

How each tool works

BinCraft processes Avid bin files locally on your Mac and does not include advertising, tracking, or in-app analytics. The direct-sale edition uses your Pragmatic Fox account and sends limited device and entitlement information to the licensing service for activation and periodic validation. The Mac App Store edition does not use the Pragmatic Fox licensing service. Neither edition uploads the files you open or their contents to Pragmatic Fox.

Elemental Bender processes editorial material locally. Its panel may download interface files and software updates. If you activate a license, the licensing service receives information needed to manage access, such as the product, activation or subscription status, an installation or device identifier, and a device name. It does not receive your editorial content as part of licensing.

AE Bridge moves work between Avid Media Composer and After Effects using local files and a helper running on your Mac. It does not upload the media or project files involved in that round-trip to Pragmatic Fox. The panel may retrieve interface files from our hosting provider.

Difference Engine processes comparisons, captures, and reports locally. Its panel may download interface files and software updates. If you activate a license, the licensing service receives the access-related information described for Elemental Bender. It does not receive your footage, captures, or reports as part of licensing.

Connections used to deliver interface files or updates may generate ordinary technical records, such as an IP address, request time, and requested file, at the hosting provider. We do not use those requests to collect editorial content.

Website, accounts, purchases, and support

If you create an account, we use your email address and authentication information to provide sign-in, account access, and product licensing. If you choose Google sign-in, Google also processes information under its own policies. Our account service stores information needed to manage purchases and activated devices, including product access, subscription status, and device activation records. When a BinCraft license key is first activated, the named editor’s work email is stored with that purchased license to enforce its single-user assignment and support activation on that editor’s permitted devices.

Payments are handled by Stripe. Stripe collects payment and billing information through its checkout service; your full payment-card number does not pass through the Pragmatic Fox website. We receive information needed to confirm and manage your purchase or subscription.

The website and its providers may process basic technical information needed to deliver pages and keep accounts secure. The site uses browser storage for functions such as the shopping cart and sign-in. If you email us for support, we use your message and contact details to respond.

Sharing and retention

We do not sell personal information or use editorial content for advertising. We share information with service providers only as needed to operate the website, accounts, billing, licensing, hosting, updates, and support, or when required by law. Those providers may include Google/Firebase for authentication, Stripe for payments, and Cloudflare for hosting and licensing infrastructure. Apple may separately process information related to App Store downloads and purchases under Apple’s policies.

Files and working data stored on your Mac remain under your control and can be removed using the tool, your Mac’s file controls, or by uninstalling the tool, as applicable. We keep account, purchase, and licensing records while needed to provide access and manage the account, and afterward only as needed for support, security, accounting, legal obligations, or dispute resolution. We keep support correspondence as needed to resolve the request and maintain appropriate business records. Service providers may retain technical records according to their own retention settings and policies.

Your choices

You can choose not to create an account for tools or editions that do not require one. You can stop using a tool and remove its locally stored files. For help accessing, correcting, or deleting account information, or for questions about this policy, contact support@pragmaticfox.com. Some transaction or security records may need to be retained where required by law.

We may update this policy when a tool or its data practices change. The current version will be posted on the Pragmatic Fox website with its effective date.
